This shot was not supposed to be. When my gf and I entered the Docks, the security saw both of our cameras and took the batteries. While I argued back and forth with them, they forgot about her and her second battery which she had in her bag which I was then able to use.
It comes as no shock that the show was incredibly funky – it had a good blend of the James Brown hits and Maceo’s own stuff, performed with the help of an incredibly solid backing band. In addition to ripping out sax solos, Maceo led songs, bantered about the good old days, and even soloed a few times on his flute (who knew he could play?).
Unlike Al Green, Maceo obliged the crowd and performed Pass the Peas as a trippy, winding encore.

confiscating batteries? I’ve never heard of such a thing. Can you pick them up again afterwards (or are we not talking rechargeable battery packs for cameras)

Ya, they put them in a sealed plastic bag and I got it back at the end.
I assume they do it that way so security guards can’t “lose” a camera that they’re holding hostage.
